Voltefy Budget — Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data Voltefy Budget collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Voltefy Budget iOS app and any related services.
1. Information You Provide
When you create an account, we receive your email address (and name, if your sign-in provider supplies it). When you use the app, you enter information about your income, expenses, categories, and transactions. This is your data.
2. How Your Data Is Stored
Account information is stored using Google Firebase Authentication and Firestore. Budget data you enter is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Guest-mode data is never sent to our servers — it stays on your device only.
3. What We Do Not Do
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use your financial information for any purpose other than providing the app's features to you. We do not track you across apps or websites.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate the app:
- Google Firebase Authentication — manages your sign-in.
- Google Firestore — stores your account record (email, sign-in providers).
- Google Sign-In — only used if you choose Google as your sign-in method.
- Apple StoreKit — processes in-app purchases (Voltefy Pro). Purchase status is verified on-device; we do not see your payment method.
These services have their own privacy policies, which govern their handling of data on their platforms.
5. Device Permissions
The app requests a few iOS permissions:
- Camera — only when you tap "Take Photo" to scan a receipt or statement.
- Photo Library — only when you pick an existing image to scan.
- Face ID / Touch ID — used locally to lock the app. The biometric data never leaves your device.
- Notifications — only used if you opt in to bill reminders.
You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
6. OCR & Image Processing
When you upload a statement or receipt, the image is processed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. The image and extracted text are not sent to any server.
7. In-App Purchases
Voltefy Budget offers a one-time in-app purchase called "Voltefy Pro" that unlocks premium features. The purchase is processed by Apple's StoreKit — we never see your payment method or billing details. Voltefy Pro is non-consumable, supports Family Sharing, and applies to all devices signed in to your Apple ID.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account). This removes your account record from our servers. Local budget data on your device is removed when you uninstall the app. To request a copy or full deletion of any data we hold, contact us at admin@voltefy.com.
9. Children's Privacy
Voltefy Budget is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including: HTTPS for all server communication, Firebase App Check / App Attest to limit backend access to the official app, restricted API keys, and on-device storage for sensitive financial data. No system is perfectly secure, however. Use a strong password, keep your device locked, and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated within the app. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
